Established in Bowness-on-Windermere in 2013 and now proudly located in the heart of Windermere, Impressarum offers a unique collection of distinctively quirky, organic cotton t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies designed for people who love the Lake District as much as we do.

Our collection is crafted with care — using superior quality organic cotton, screen printed by hand in Cumbria with eco-friendly, water-based inks. All our Lake District designs are limited editions of just 100 pieces.

I spent my early childhood growing up in Windermere in the seventies (telling you all my age here!) This gave me a love for the Lake District that’s never faded, no matter where in the world I’ve found myself living. Impressarum designs all have a subtle distressed effect, giving a nod to that seventies feel — relaxed, timeless, and full of character.

We also feature thought-provoking t-shirts by other British designers who share our love for creativity, originality, and sustainable values.

Hi, I’m Helly, the founder of Impressarum. I owned Church Street Gallery in Saffron Walden for six years before my family and I moved back to the North West in 2012. In 2013, we opened The Mere Gallery in Bowness — an art gallery showcasing Original Prints alongside a small range of screen-printed t-shirts.

Sterling silver statement jewellery with repurposed attitude, designed and handcrafted by me, Helly Baynham.

Each one-of-a-kind piece is recycled and up-cycled from antique sterling silver with a history, a story, a connection with the past — often Victorian Gothic.

Much of the collection is oxidised to highlight texture and create a bold, dark aesthetic. These designs have lavish weight, notable proportions, and aren’t afraid to be seen and heard!
