Custos 1882

This striking necklace features a hand crafted super chunky chain and a Victorian shield design locket, dated Birmingham 1882. The locket has foliage on one side and initials (possibly WB?) on the other along with the hallmarks. It is in good condition but does have minor dents as expected with this age of silver. 

Each hand-forged link carries a raw, textured finish, and is oxidised, giving the necklace an aged, armour-like feel.

Designed to sit with presence, this necklace has a distinctive hook clasp and a slightly rugged, medieval edge. Perfect worn alone as a statement or layered with finer chains for a curated, gothic look.

The chain length is 17" and the whole piece weighs 68g.
