This is a one of a kind necklace, comprising of antique sterling silver pig charm, hallmarked makers Joseph & Richard Griffin, Chester 1902. Together with a hand stamped plaque with the latin phrase "Ad astra per alia porci," meaning " to the stars on the wings of a pig," which conveys the idea that people should strive to reach the heavens even if they have limited resources. Complemented with a paperclip style chain and large hand crafted hook clasp.
The piece has been oxidised to give a dark contrast.
The length of the necklace is 17" + another 5.5" drop to the bottom of the plaque.
The piece is also fully hallmarked AWTS (Away With The Spoon,) Sheffield Assay mark, & Z (2024.)
